Job Description: Intern, Ashinaga Africa Initiative (AAI)

Location: Remote (Digital Workspace) / Tokyo, Japan (Hybrid option available for local residents)

Organization: Ashinaga Foundation

Term Cycle: Fall-Winter 2026–2027

Application Deadline: July 10, 2026, at 11:59 PM

 Role Overview

The Intern supports the day-to-day administration, execution, and student tracking networks of the Ashinaga Africa Initiative (AAI). This position focuses on providing higher education access, leadership mapping, and community integration for orphaned higher education scholars from sub-Saharan Africa. The position requires operating across digital workspaces to optimize cross-cultural communications and manage student progress datasets matching Tokyo working hours.

Key Responsibilities

* Student Relations Tracking: Monitor academic pathways, evaluate international student proposals, and draft localized adjustment frameworks for active university scholars.

* Career Development Mapping: Support corporate partner outreach campaigns, update global employment registries, and track professional readiness files for graduating students.

* Recruitment Operations Support: Review incoming regional registration profiles, validate background verification metrics, and audit high school transcripts for incoming sub-Saharan African applicants.

* Workspace Administration: Maintain structured project updates via digital collaborative hubs, execute administrative document tasks, and participate in cross-regional progress reviews.

Candidate Requirements

* Enrollment Status: Current undergraduate university student, postgraduate master's researcher, or recent university graduate.

* Competencies: Proven experience navigating digital work systems (Google Workspace, Slack, tracking dashboards), with an analytical focus on non-profit logistics or social impact tracking.

* Language Proficiency: Complete professional fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory. Advanced working capability in French or Portuguese yields high priority.

* Operational Adaptability: Proven capacity to manage task streams matching Japan Standard Time (JST) schedules.

What We Offer

* A flexible remote framework designed to fit part-time academic or research commitments.

* A daily operational stipend of ¥1,000 JPY per working day to directly offset home internet, utilities, and workstation administrative overhead.

* Clear internal pipelines for long-term contract extension consideration based on performance data.

* Direct horizontal visibility and collaboration inside an elite, multi-regional non-profit foundation.

Interested candidates must submit their verified CV, academic transcripts, and brief short-answer motivation texts directly through the official Ashinaga Jotform application interface before the system server cuts off entries.
